MY STORY
I started Career Quests in 2020 to help others realise their career potential and help them avoid the hurdles and brick walls that I often faced.
Whether you’re looking for your first job, next job, changing careers, wanting to increase your salary, or get your foot in the door of a new career. My mission is to help you achieve your potential.
The Career Quest is a source of self-development, inspiration, change, and support for those who are looking to be all they can be.
I will share all the best concepts, strategies, tools, and resources that I know of and continue to discover and that have made a measurable impact on my career and many others and will do for you as well.
#BACKGROUND
BACKGROUND
In 2009 I was a graduate Marine Biologist, fresh out of university when I was impacted by the Global Financial Crisis.
I was constantly rejected for jobs and told that I didn’t have the right experience or enough of it.
Without much success, I realised the only way to pursue my marine biology career was by building my network and creating opportunities.
I attended Meetup groups, conferences, cold-called hiring managers, and asked for referrals from people I knew personally.
Consequently, I started to build my work experience by picking up short-term contract roles.
After coming off a fishing boat, I took a short-term role with a recruitment agency.
I found a role that was not only rewarding but meant that I was able to help people land their dream jobs or get their foot in the door of a new career.
I developed to become one of the top consultants within the business through the successful placement of candidates. I was able to help others enhance their resume, write cover letters and coach them on interview techniques and career choices.
Now, I want to this for you.

Whether you’re writing a resume or changing careers you’ll need an understanding of the job market and successful strategies.
If you don’t understand what it is that works, then you might miss our on the career opportunity you really want.
But, you know all of this already.

Do you go to the gym once and expect to be ripped? Yeah, I do to… NOT!
If you expect instant results then you are expecting too much of yourself and too quickly.
Anything related to your career requires thought, dedication and hard work.
If you’re not prepared to commit to 10x more effort than you expect, then I’m probably not the right person for you.
You seek the easy way

There is no such thing as “the easy way.”
When someone asks “what’s the easiest way?” or “what technique can I use?” It tells me that they are not invested in the process or committed to the long-term effort of growing their career.
It all comes down to YOU!
